A leading provider of VOIP communications tools.

At first glance, 5Linx sounded so exciting. But, when searching the Internet to gain additional information, I was repeatedly sent to “Home Business” sites that offer medical plans, home security and satellite TV. They didn’t assist me in my attempts to purchase the highly-acclaimed VOIP/Video system. Instead, 5Linx wanted me to become an agent in their multi-level marketing franchise.  My research was going nowhere, fast.

In other words, except for the now-infamous Rochester, NY newscast touting the fact that space-age technology has finally arrived at a cost anyone can afford, it is nearly impossible to access information about the features or price of this Video/VOIP/Telephone Handset.
The manufacturer of this equipment is a key player in today’s techno-world. This phone system was devised by Spirit DSP – or TeamSpirit. Spirit is a company that has provided reliable products in phone, VOIP, mobile, audio and video markets for more than 10 years. Furthermore, many of the behind-the-scenes equipment that our VOIP and/or Internet providers use, comes from them. In fact, their equipment is favored by people like TMCnet, FierceVoIP, and Skype, to name a few.  They have received numerous awards and accolades from some very hip techno-geeks, including USA Today,, Forbes and Wallstreet Online. This equipment is highly sought-after and is sold worldwide.  Except perhaps, this newest offering. Chances are, this videophone will be tied up for a considerable period of time with 5Linx.

The news might not be all bad. When the MLM business acquires enough agents, they are sure to visit your neighborhood or mine and, if we are willing to listen to the array of other products they offer, we will learn more about this Video/VoIP service.

Additionally, there is dissention in the ranks of the MLM hierarchy. Not because they don’t believe in the products they offer, but because they are making more sales when utilizing a different approach than the one proffered by the MLM. Puffed-up web pages, (gained by hiring someone who needs to work-from-home, and who at-first thinks they are helping companies by perusing the links they provide), are making all the hype on the internet look legitimate. But, like most MLMs, the $499 price of admission is sure to discourage even the most avid get-rich-quick disciples. Expect to hear more about this and about the service over time.
The MLM approach may or may not fly in the long run, which means, we might not see this actual piece of equipment become the hit that it could have been. Marketed through normal channels, this could have been running away with the market by now.  In the meantime, we should keep our eyes open for the next generation of VoIP/Video technology – hopefully by the same manufacturer.

- There are those who like this kind of marketing/delivery approach.
- 5Linx named on the 2007 Fortune list of fastest growing companies in America.
- Linx2Fund fundraising opportunities
- Providing many electronics for VoIP and wireless needs

Every time you consider buying a product from one of these agents, you are hounded to becoming an agent yourself. This can be an uncomfortable solicitation to sit through.

Unknown at this time. It is rumored the service goes for around $30.

- Video capabilities on a handset desk phone.

DanT:  There is absolutely NO easy money. You have to work for it. Just like you go to work everyday. At 5linx, you work for you (and the people who sign you up, of course, b/c it's a MLM). The important and key features of 5linx are the support from your upline and the products that they are selling. Tremendous support and outstanding bonus plan. As for Globalinx, the only advantage I see is that you can call to 75 countries for free with $24.95/month.

Dave:  First, I am not involved with this company. Second, everyone on this thread is bias in one way or another. The people above who bash the company provide no basis (typical internet morons - anyone with a computer and keyboard is an expert) - I did research the company and for unbiased reviews , I found that they are a top company in the "Rochester Top 100" and that they have been in the INC. 500 magazine for four years - as for the scam thing, sound like a lard-ass who continues on the box-o-twinkies after joining Jenny Craig and saying the weight loss program doesn't work - look in the mirror and you will see what (or whom) doesn't work - just my opinion

Andrew Kelly:  I bet all the guys above who are defending this company are involved themselves. Just search for 5linx and scam and you will find that they have spammed google to ruin any decent and unbiased results.

"UNINFORMED" people drive me crazy:  To the person writing the article about 5linx who couldn't manage to get to the correct 5linx website: If you know anything about the internet, you would know that you do not need to search for the VOIP video phone. You can simply go to the 5linx website at To Rivera Barney: 5linx is not a scam. You got swindled out of $500 because you thought you could get rich just by paying $500. A few lessons for you to learn: There is no such thing as getting rich quick. You have to put in the time if you want to be successful. You should never give up. Always surround yourself with positive people and get rid of the negative/uniformed (aka: ignorant) people surrounding you. NEVER EVER give up. I have met many people who have made it to the top in 5linx and no for a fact that 5linx is not a scam. Just because you didn't try and do not believe in working hard does not mean that 5linx is a scam.

Catrice Ricks-Parker:  Interesting commentary! However, it is ironic that the very thing that is being sited here as a negative, in actuality reflects positevly the integrity of the company and its founders. Because the founders come from either Telecommunicatons or Direct Sales backgrounds, they know the types of challenges that we, as independent representatives, encounter. In most cases, a person who is looking to obtain more information about 5Linx heard about the company from one of us. Any information that is needed relative to the "Products" or how to "Make $" is found directly on the our personal website. Feel free to visit mine at . Whether you are visiting from the posture of an entrepreneur or a consumer, you will find exactly what you need. It is also important to mention that it is not a requirement that you become a representative in order to utilize our products and/or services as could be misinterpreted by this summation. Lastly, it is noteworthy that this summary states "...5Linx named on the 2007 Fortune list of fastest growing companies in America...". 5Linx was listed in "Inc. 500" annual report 2006, 2007 and 2008; was featured in "Your Business at Home" (09/2007) and "Success From Home" (07/2008) magazines and was broadcast on CNN's Focus on America!! 5Linx is truly a phenomenal opportunity.

Mike Ballantyne:  According to the news, Inc. 500 and Success at home Magazine “5Linx” is one of the fastest growing companies in America, and last I checked Vonage, Cisco, Skype, and T-Mobile doesn’t pay residual income to their employees....ENOUGH SAID ;) Not to get to many people excited, At &T knows there time is up (with land lines) and just partner up with 5Linx. Very Exciting news to hear!!
