Providing VoIP service internationally.

Get it Now!

Net2Phone approaches the VoIP world through many portals. It co-invented the YapJack telephone (plug-in to your wall jack and talk over the Internet) at the turn of the century with Panasonic, and gained a reputation as an innovator. Net2Phone provides international prepaid calling-cards and software that enables international faxing via the Internet at a per-page price. Additionally, they offer VoIP capabilities to ISP providers and hardware to Internet cafés and call shops. As a subsidiary of Global Worldwide, they are also a provider of Wholesale Termination Programs.

- Innovative company, developing telephony technology, like the WiFi phone
- Unlimited long distance calling packages, including international
- Competitive pricing
- Business plans

- Weak on customer resolution and support
- Negative customer feedback
- Negative BBB complaints
- Yap Jack is no longer available

Net2Phone’s basic residential plan includes unlimited calls to the U.S. and Canada for $29.99 per month, including calls to cell phones. Other plans include:
- Activation fee for all plans is $29.95
- Pay-as-you go plans in all categories starting at 350 minutes
- International calling plans have an additional cost. Plans are divided according to calling areas (i.e. Europe or Hong Kong). Calls to international cell phones are not included.
- Free adaptor to any new U.S. customer
- Standard regulatory taxes and fees as required by law apply to all telephone accounts
- Fees apply for obtaining a personal international number or 800-number
- WiFi service is available through any of the calling plans when you purchase the VoiceLine XJ100 WiFi for $175.

Business Customers
Small businesses can save on telephone costs with four plans that start at $14.99. Easily connect your business with customers across the globe, including the U.K., Europe, Canada and Asia. Net2Phone also provides businesses with toll-free 800-numbers, as well as the option to have a U.S. phone number even if you are located in a different country.

Net2Phone provides the normal telephony service features, including:
- Call forwarding
- Call waiting
- Caller ID
- Direct incoming calls to as many as five different phone numbers for assured access
- Block all calls for a specific period of time
- Conference calls
- Voicemail is free with any monthly calling plan

Customer Feedback
Consumer complaints about Net2Phone run rampant on Internet forums. Even among those who loved their quality and pricing, there was agreement that it was difficult to get help, whether from a technical or billing standpoint.

BBB Report

The number of complaints filed against the company may not be as important as the type of complaints and how the company handled them. jorge:  I would not recommend this product. Calls are ok, but often drop. However, I started using the product years ago, Net2Phone dropped the rate per minute to 5cents, however continued charging me 10cents on my international calls for over one year. Calls were answered with a "it is now fixed" type of answer, but the bill never changed. Thank god I didn't use it very often. I have now gone to Skype all together. No more Net2phone.

Jack:  The worst company I have ever dealt with in terms of tech support for a serious issue. They continually tell you they are working on the problem when, in fact, nothing is being done. They are extremely pleasant, but lie repeatedly and without a bit of remorse. The tech department that you reach on the phone is actually a customer service center and has no ability to directly contact the real tech support. Prepare to be completely frustrated if you ever need anything major to be corrected.

Chuck:  Yes. They were ok until the caller id stopped working (problem was not with the phone - also didn't work when I connected other phones.) Their support was terrible - never could fix it. I am moving to another provider.
